About Sayulita

  • say4

Sayulita was “discovered” in the late 1960s with the construction of Mexican Highway 200. Today, Sayulita

is a prosperous growing village of approximately 4,000 residents. Hailed as a popular off-the-beaten-path travel destination, Sayulita offers a variety of outdoor activities such as surfing, horseback riding, mountain biking, jungle hiking, paddle boarding, jungle canopy tours, exotic bird watching, diving, snorkeling, and fishing. Golf & tennis (facilities) are also near by.

An unpretentious mecca for visitors of all ages as well as backpacking travelers from around the world looking for an authentic Mexican experience, this quaint town attracts adventurous tourists with its sensational sunsets, diverse art galleries, fresh fruit/vegetable street markets, colorful shops, and restaurants.

Anyone who has visited Sayulita knows that this picturesque fishing village has a curious and eclectic character found nowhere else. With its cobblestone streets and dirt roads hosting dogs, chickens and playing children, Sayulita is a half-century away from nearby Puerto Vallarta and it's huge resorts and discos. Frequented by the Cora and Huichol natives, traveling craftsmen, as well as international tourists, Sayulita is the crown jewel and the “it Town” of the newly designated Riviera Nayarit.
This charming little town offers a unique and friendly experience to its visitors who are not afraid to get dirty. Leave your nice shoes at home and bring your casual flipflop attire.

Sleepy yet distinctly vibrant, Sayulita can accommodate everybody's interests. If you are looking for fun and adventure, Sayulita has a diverse lineup of things to do with its bustling town center offering delicious Mexican coastline food from taco stands to award winning restaurant dining. The town offers an array of entertainment options centered around its Main Beach. If you have never surfed before, this is your opportunity to learn! Fishing trips to the Marietas Islands or whale watching tours are highly recommended.

Sayulita Weddings

Sayulita has become a highly sought after wedding destination because of its gorgeous venues and its own quaint Catholic church in the central plaza. Almendros is the ideal place to accommodate all your guest in one place.

SAYULITA BEACHES

Sayulita’s “Main Beach” is nestled in a peaceful palm
tree-lined bay just off the center square. This is the
busiest part of the beach where you can learn how to
surf and paddle board, among many other activities. Other beaches, like Playa Malpasos a mile long of untouched beach with no construction, offer an unrivaled secluded and relaxing experience. Not to far is Playa Secreta, a small beach only accessible by foot when the tide is low through some natural rock caverns. Sayulita’s North Beach is only 3 short blocks from Los Almendros and is the best part to be if you want to be surrounded by some people but not too many, and only a 8 minute walk to Main Beach.
Playa Los Muertos is surrounded by Sayulita's folkloric cemetery covered by a lush jungle, popular for its giant 30 feet rocks to dive off.
